Somehow, you always know when something feels right….
We spent a long time, a very long time, trying to find a suitable site for the Airstream – reading the reviews in Cool Camping, visiting sites, going back to old favourites, but none of them were quite right. Some were just too commercial, some were in the wrong place, at some, the facilities weren’t up to scratch, or the owners just plain didn’t seem to be that worried about providing a good service.
It was therefore an absolute delight when we came across Tanya & Andy at Coastal Valley, read their wonderful reviews, and then went down to see them – everything in the reviews was true! As well as the warm and friendly welcome, what really stood out was their desire to make the site REALLY fantastic – and they shared our love of Airstreams!!
That’s their strapline, and it sums things up rather nicely. It is small, but large enough for the kids to meet other kids, and enjoy the freedom of playing and exploring a lovely country environment. Happy kids, relaxed parents.
And couples don’t need to feel left out either – there aren’t hoards of children running amok, and the pitches are spacious enough for you to just relax in your own space, or mingle with fellow campers as you see fit.
Whoever you come with though, we’re sure you’ll love this haven of tranquility, and will find the facilities to be top-notch!
Many of the reviews talk about how friendly and helpful Tanya and Andy are, ranging from waiting at the gate for guests to arrive, helping with tent pitching, repairing an airbed, or just making sure that caravan hookups were working. Here’s a couple of reviews from happy campers – visit Coastal Valley Camp & Crafts to read the rest.
Some sites rest on their laurels, doing just what they need to make the site workable, but then not improving it over time. Not so at Coastal Valley! An example is the new toilet block – the old ones were very characterful and clean (and actually very well-liked by campers), but possibly not quite sufficient if the site was full, so Tanya & Andy decided to replace them with a totally new block, better equipped, and stunningly stylish!
Nice touches too like having visiting caterers come to the site on selected evenings during the week in peak season so that you don’t have to cook, or the arts and crafts workshops, or the ‘kitchen hut’ where unfortunate souls in tents can cook standing up!
