Our Location

Newquay, Cornwall

In a secluded spot close to Watergate Bay, Newquay

In recent years, Newquay has got itself a bit of a name as a “party town”, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s a lovely area, with some quite stunning beaches, and an increasingly “foodie” focus, driven by the close proximity to Rick Stein’s restaurant empire at nearby Padstow, Nathan Outlaw at Port Isaac, and Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen.

Amazingly, we managed to find a little campsite that is very close to Newquay, but in a lovely little valley away from the crowds – it’s called Coastal Valley Camp and Crafts. Offering a combination of 25 Touring pitches for tents and caravans with interesting other glamping options such as Bell Tents, a Camping Pod and luxurious Safari tent, it’s a truly pleasant place to be – a tranquil haven for everyone to unwind.

The focus is on families and couples, so don’t go there expecting the bright lights, loud music and Bingo evenings, just good old fashioned camping – camping as it should be! The ‘old fashioned’ though doesn’t extend to the facilities, which are bang up to date, with some of the nicest wash rooms we’ve ever come across on a campsite – and we’ve been to a fair few!

There’s a small on-site farm shop selling essential produce, all locally sourced wherever possible (e.g. Padstow Chough Bakery breads, flans, pies, cakes & Artisan Breads, Farm Dry cured bacon & homemade sausages and Free Range eggs from a local small holding.)

During the peak season the site runs art & craft workshops for those that are game to explore their untapped talents.

There are 3 beaches within walking distance all accessed via public footpaths at the foot of the land. 1.25 miles, across the fields and headland is Watergate bay, with good restaurants, surf shops and Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen). 1 mile country walk to Porth Beach or Whipsiderry beach.
